Tasting notes - Rhone
1-10 Domaine Olivier Ravoire, Crozes Hermitage
Deep ruby red colour. Fine red fruit aromas (raspberry) and hawthorn. Full bodied with smooth fruit flavour. Ideal with game, meat dishes with sauces and full flavoured cheeses. Ready to drink now, 3 to 5 ageing will reveal developed aromas of blackcurrant and violets.
Grape variety: 100 % Syrah.
Serving temperature: 16 and 18°C
1-12 Domaine Olivier Ravoire Châteauneuf du Pape Red
Deep red colour. Complex bouquet with red fruits (cherry), spicy and undergrowth aromas. Full body and well-balanced wine, with silky tannins and very good length. Perfect with beef in sauce, roast red meats, game and cheeses. Ready to drink, can be aged 5 to 10 years to reveal interesting evolution aromas (leather, chocolate…).
Grape varieties: Grenache (80%), Syrah (10%) and Mourvèdre (10%).
Serving temperature: Serve between 16-18°C
1-14 Olivier Ravoire, Côte du Rhône, white
Brilliant yellow colour. Elegant nose with attractive citrus fruits (lemon) and floral aromas. Well-balanced dry palate, fruity and fresh. Perfect as an aperitif or with Mediterranean food, vegetable, grilled fish and desserts. To be drunk young.
Grape varieties: Grenache (80%) and Clairette (20%)
Serving temperature: Serve between 10-12°C
1-17 Côtes du Rhône Rouge, Les Versant
Cherry red colour. Red fruits aromas and spicy notes. Easy to drink with a remarkable softness in mouth. Goes with cooked meats, grilled meats or in sauce, and cheeses. May be opened now but will age harmoniously 3 or 4 years.
Grape varieties: Grenache (80 %) and Syrah (20 %).
Serving: To be served at 16 - 18°C
